Time flies

Howdy,

Looks like I only think once a month to blog after such a long time..Ya, life is lazy sss. ....think I'm getting lazy...

Cos' market very slow so life gets a "tad" unexciting....no nerve to go into the volatile market...So all I do is stare & gets numb....sigh...where are all the bravado & guts the past two months...? Nvm, keep for better days..It will come...When one door closes, another will open..So there is always hope, right? Just hope that everyone is well & no -one gets burned too much...

Ok, so it's the quiet of the day. Both my girls are busy with their own lives. One mugging for her year end exams which is just round the corner..Good luck to the stressed lady...Nvm, results are not everything. It's how u embrace life, & take comfort in having your loved ones around u that u should be measured. At the end of your life, all the material wealth & success cannot be taken with u. However, the legacy that u left behind as remembered by the loved ones will be cherished for a long long time..So, do good, be good & be cheerful.. That's the way to live

All u children out there, busy preparing for your exams...take a break, have fun, enjoy life... Don't pressure yourself too much. Your parents will not be happy to see u so stressed...

Well, the other one had her fill of enjoyment overseas & now is back to the grind.. Daily school routines, lectures, bitching with friends...& napping all the time..That seems to be the life of a Univ student nowadays.. But remember, this is still the best time of your life before a working life sets in.. Then, no school vacation to look forward to. just the miserly annual leave & the public holidays...

All you youngsters, take time to savour life while u are at the peak of your splendour life....

Have fun...
Cheers.

Its so Hot now

Howdy,
It's coming to a month since I last blogged. So guess what I've been busy with? Nothing much except looking at the screen every day hoping for my portfolio to look better & better. So much for not working, huh? Think am getting too obsessed with the share market just like everyone else since that's the hot topic that I hear everywhere I go & even discussions with my dear friends.
Nevertheless, I did take a break & brought my dear friend, who has migrated to Canada on a home trip , shopping & eating the whole day. At least, she likes the food we had & got the things she wanted to shop.. She can go back with a big bagful of stuff. Ha, just like what Grace is telling me, that she is lugging her heavy luggage all around with her travelling holidays. Now, she knows that that's the price u pay for buying...In another 3 weeks, she will be home then. So how nice & timely, for another family get together. Before that, she will enjoying herself at San Francisco, Las Vegas and LA..How blissful..Enjoy your vacation, dear.
The weather is getting so hot that I long to go to the pool and have a nice cool dip.. so refreshing, instead of sitting in the hot enclosed space at home. Nvm, just imagine will do if cannot do it.
Even tho' I have retired & have all the time in the world to do the things I wanted to do, I think I still procrastinate too much.
Like I tell myself, I should actively be involved in more social work but have been pretty slow in this. Also signed up to help with another org but lazy to go for meetings when it's held in the evenings. Why can't mtgs be held in the day for housewives like myself?
Half a year gone & need to build up on completing some of my resolutions. Work harder at it.. Dont wait for the fruits to fall. U must harvest them. So, take note, dont be lazy but try hard all the time.
So much for now.. Have a great week.
Cheers

Hello, everyone,

Did anyone missed me? Ya, my last blogging was done at the beginning of the school holidays & this is the last week of the school holidays.

So imagine time flies & what have I been occupied with? Eh, looking after the monkey out from school. ha.ha.. But it was a nice two weekend breaks on different ships with the family. Hectic, short of sleep, binge on food etc made u wonder whether it's a holiday or more stressful than work. Anyway, the family gatherings were good so cannot complain la since it's not easy getting everyone together.

Well, next week, life will get back to normal when school reopens...No more staying at home..bravo! Actually, staying at home is not too bad if can make good profits daily from the markets ha..

Grace has been calling home regularly, bless her soul, for remembering she has her dear parents languishing here while she's enjoying her life, & spending all our hard earned money. Hopefully, she buys something for everyone else on her shopping spree.. She's off to Niagara Falls & should be back at work dutifully soon after this short break.

Well, hope it's good luck for all those punters out there.. Enjoy the rest of the week.

Cheers..

Finicky or What

Hi, there,

How's everyone? Enjoying yourself, no doubt with the holidays & the likes. Me, am still wondering around, pottering & doing nothing in general. That's the life.

What a nice car there? Wish it was yours, right? Well, this reminds me of my neighbour who washes his car every minute of the day. Every time we passes by, he or his maid is washing every single inch of his car (& he has two cars , one a Jaguar no less). So, is that how he passes his time. He must be fanatic about the cleanliness of his car or does he treat his car like his precious Wife that he needs to make sure she is Well groomed.

Sometimes, we see people like that. Me, when I was younger, am quite a perfectionist. Guess am still, except I am more tolerant. However, I still feel that I can be at times insisting that things happen my way, per my expectations without any hitch so I get extremely upset that it's not going as planned. Nevertheless, life is too short for that & we all know that. Today, I read again about the young girl who drowned in the Sentosa pool & witness again the agonising pain of the parents. It's sad but things happen in the blink of an eye & there is really no time for regrets. So, do u regret spending the day without achieving anything. Sleep with no regrets. Time waits for no one.

So much for the bleak news. Well, we will be having another family outing soon on a cruise so it should be fun for the children who can bond with each other once again. Grace, u miss all this since u are out there enjoying the sunny side of US. We will be going cruising two weekends without u. How sad as we all miss u. Take care.

So cheers till then.

Grace in Albany

Hi, Gals & Guys,

Can u see Grace in the photo here. She with all her room mates & those who enjoyed her so called "fantastic" dinner in US.

When u are hungry & see roti all the time, anything Chinese will taste heaven so am not surprised that they all enjoyed her food.

Ok, u can decide whether the food shown here (cooked by Grace) is palatable... Looks ok to me la. Just a pot stew of food..Ha.ha.. Better than grass & roti, I supposed.

So, it's the school holidays & GSS. Everywhere there is the Four Letter Word.. However, I think am too exhausted to benefit from the SALE of the year since it's like the same everywhere.. Maybe, I'm getting old & not too interested to shop la.. Only thing I like to shop is Shares..ha.ha.that can make money hor. The rest is out & no in.

Weather is also getting hot here so it's also time to snooze in the afternoons.. Warm & fuzzy to sleep ah.. what bliss.. Especially when both girls are not around. It will be nice to go on a short holiday but alas no such luxury since all are too tight..

Well, see, Grace is enjoying herself as usual.. Just some casual snide racial remarks occasionally from the ang mos there wont kill her.. Be tolerant & bear with it la.. Life is all about patience & tolerance...

Take care & have fun, all u out there..

Monkeys are OUT

Hi,
Why are monkeys out????

This is the school holidays, mate & I would expect all students to be let out from school..Is'nt it a relief for the children to be able to enjoy one month of freedom from the stress of school life?
Not so for the parents (I supposed) who will have to find activities to occupy these bored souls for a whole month..Ya, u will be surprised at how quickly they become bored after staying at home for a few days.

Then again, I read an article recently about how a family is having problem trying to book a holiday to fit into the schedule of their school going children due to the various school activities they have to continue to partake during the school holidays. I should know too since our holiday plans were also thrown out of the window after a few consultations on the children & their cousins holiday schedules. So, this is not a unique problem but looks like a daunting issue with most families. Is'nt it nice to go back to those days when all we have to do is to go away for leisurely family vacations during the school holidays.? But no, even the students need to apply leave from school to get away during the school holidays. That's the irony of today's stressful school life...

BTW, for those who like to know about Grace, she's adapting well in US. Spoken to her a couple of times & decided that Grace can survive in anywhere u throw her too. Too well, I should say, since she's starting to argue with her work managers & supervisors on what she should or should not do.. Grace, watch your back or u be stabbed!

Ya, one month of bliss at home for some & boredom for others. Which way it goes will depend on how u view and handle life. U can decide to do something different this time round eg. read some books to increase your knowledge, learn some new games, make some new friends, do some handiwork...Live life to the fullest during this time as u get the most freedom now.

So, all u students out there, enjoy the holidays....
Cheers for all ..

Enjoying Life Eh?

Howdy,
How's everyone? Is it like a ball? Glimmering & shimmering like this picture. Hope it's like that for everyone. Well, for those who are interested, Grace is adapting well to US now that she's been there for a few days.
However, she has no internet so u have to excuse her if she does not read mails or MSN anyone yet. Am sure in time to come, she will find her sources to do that. Trust her to be resourceful (eh, like mom) with lots of initiative. With her adaptive nature, she can survive anywhere (even if u throw her to the dogs literally). So, this begets the question "How adaptive are our youths these days?". Personally, I find that even as there are a small group of youngsters who can be adaptable to any environment, many others are still highly sheltered in their lives. What with all the pampering & spoonfeeding by the parents, it's no surprise that youngsters take things for granted.
In fact, Grace being away will hopefully teach her to be more independant & survive out of the family home where all the creature comforts are provided at her fingertips without any need to bother for her. So, sometimes, it's good to let go of your children & let them chart out their own paths for them to really grow up.
My fear is that the youngsters cannot take hardship & setbacks as well as we older folks are used to. The recent news abt NTU graduates getting snapped up for jobs & paid very attractive salaries have me thinking about our times when graduates have to "beg" for jobs or during the recent Asian Financial crisis where graduates go jobless for months on end. The good job market also mean that graduates are spoilt for choices & once they have a smooth sailing career without any setbacks, they may be ill prepared in life.
So much for such bleak views, there are still much good news & things to be thankful for.
May all of u have a good week ahead.

Did u enjoy your long flight

Hi, Grace,
Hope your trip was like the sea. Smooth as breeze tho' am sure it will be a bit uncomfortable with such a long flight. U will probably be a walking dishelveled zombie when u arrived in US. As long as u are not dressed shabbily, u should not have too much trouble with the immigration.
Dont forget to MSN mom when u are there. Most times, I put myself busy on MSN but actually around in the mornings. Guess I need to change my schedule to night when u are in US now. So, take care & be good
It's kind of funny when u realise that u want to peep into Grace's room & thought she will be sleeping there when I know that she's away. Guess it will take me a while to get used to this new schedule.
Life's the same here & I should feel blessed that all's well & healthy. The recent deaths of the mother & teacher (was it?) who died under the wrath of a fallen tree made me rethink again that life is fragile. We never know when it's time to go. It's our Maker's decision so we can all go in very unusual & sudden circumstances. So, do good & accummulate merits. Actually, being schooled in a Catholic organization in my early years, I've always believed in God. Nevertheless, I always adopt a open attitude as far as religion is concerned. Recently, I read some books on buddhism & their teachings are actually quite applicable & relevant to our daily lives. It teaches us to be tolerant to all religions & that no religious persons should threaten another that they will not find heaven if they do not adhere to a certain religion. In fact, heaven & hell is a state of mind & we develop this from our own experiences. So, it's all controlled by yourself. However, it's also very important for us to gather good karma by doing merits at all times. Small or big, merits do accummulate & it's never late to extend a helping hand, a listening ear, a small gift, a hug etc just to show your care & concern.
So, my motto is still be good to all & don't speak evil of others. Be empathic to others' situations & understand their plight or circumstances.
All u out there, will u be nice to your "enemies" today? Buy them lunch, have a nice word for them, stop backstabbing friends, enquire about their well being etc.
Have a great day to all.
Grace - Lots of luv from all here in Singapore.

Flown Away

Hello,

For those who are concerned about Grace, she has flown away this afternoon. Another 30 hrs, & she will arrive at her destined work place which is Albany. Ulu town which is supposedly 2 hrs drive from New York City. Ha.ha. am sure she will be greatly surprised by what she sees. The furthest she was away is probably limited to Asia Pacific, like New Zealand. So, this will be a great change for her to fly half the world away. Bon voyage to her & great Snoozing on the plane ride.

Well, wanted to share with u how the relatives enjoyed the BBQ & the celebration at home. See. no time to pause & eat. Must eat while continue bonding & interacting. That's the style man. No prizes for guessing the 4 kakis ah. Am sure u all can tell by the shapes & sizes ah.

It will be a long time until we have the next family gathering since Grace is away. Home is quiet for a change..nice change too. Isn't it the empty nest syndrome yet? No, just one bird has flown away, temporarily. In a flash, she will soon be back, more the wiser, I hope, with her exposure to the "Real world".

So, to all Grace's friends out there, wish her good luck & best wishes on her upcoming work.

Take care & God Bless.

Totally Exhausted

Hi,
It was a whirlwind last week as it was a hectic schedule since I returned from my cruise. Had to prepare for the family gathering & run errands for the family. Well, glad that u guys & gals enjoyed the noodles.. U need several rounds of training before u can become the master chef. Even I do not know how to cook such delicious noodles la. But I won't bother to learn so that I can tell hubby to prepare his specialty anytime. That's the trick ah.
So, how I wish I can lie on the easy chair & enjoy the sea view this week. But not yet, until Grace has flown away tomorrow. Her last minute packing & shopping are usual & typical of youngsters nowadays, so what's new. Hopefully her trip out there will make her a more independent & organised person. Wait till she has to cook, wash, clean & scrub ah (like a houseperson). Then, she will know why we are called House Manager. Managing a home is no different from working. U need wits, planning and great co-ordination.. ha. ha.
Candice turn sweet sixteen today so going into adulthood soon is round the corner. That also means that it's been over 16 years since we had to carry this baby. Time waits for no man & I certainly feel myself aging over the years. Tho' I'm very much young at heart. Read recently on the news about how a mother tried to behave "hip" with her daughter & went clubbing with her at St James Power just to get into the heat of things. Too bad, I don't think my heart can take such pounding noises & senseless drinking & smoking. No late nights for me as I need to maintain my ageless youth.ha.ha. So, just blogging will do for the moment.
Did u all celebrate Mother's Day with your beloved one? I know I had the most memorable Mother's Day of all since it's like any other day for me. Regular family dinner & usual bitching. So, I should know that Mother or no Mother's day, the children will always be children. Don't expect too much to change or to be different. Guess I'll have to wait until they have their own family to realise the role the parents play. So, all mothers will continue to play their motherly roles with unconditional love & devotion, irregardless of the deal they get from their children. We do not expect reciprocal deal at all.
That's all for now before I exhaust my small brain.
Hope all of u have a good week.
Cheers

Cat is Out

Ai ya, Shaun, How can u let the cat out of the bag? It's supposed to be a family gathering la...
& Jeff, becos' of u, we will have to do last minute changes to the menu...haeme no taugeh (meesiam no hum ah ...)..U very big shot so make sure u all come ah..
Anyway, the younger one is out this week on school camp to Malaysia, so dare I say that there is peace & quiet..Lazing around like the cat on the floor...wow..how relaxed.
Ya, also preparing to go on another lazy cruise trip tonight....Ha, this is the kind of retiree life I'm looking forward to..Smell the sea, the roses & indulge..That's high tai tai life for u. Don't be envious , friends, your time will come after u have slogged for another 20 years la.
Wah, nowadays, the weather is getting sweltering.Must be global warming at work lor. So, all u out there, be more environmental friendly. Switch off lights, less air con usage, shower faster, dont let the tap running, use your own environmental friendly bags lor..
Each of u youngsters must do your part to save the environment for your descendants. U have more years to enjoy the earth whereas oldies like us only have another 20 to 30 years at most.
So, spare a thought everytime, u use electricity or water.
BTW, come in comfy clothes like ultra shorts & t shirts for the BBQ since it's gonna be real hot.
Cya then. Meanwhile, cheers & good luck to me on my upcoming cruise la..
Bye

Hello,

Did anyone missed me? Ha ha. My ego getting big ah!

Wish I'm as calm as the sea here. But not sure as it has been a hectic week for me. Busy shuttling around & checking out my investments are very very time consuming. Plus, I'm preparing for a small family gathering cum celebration.

I always find it a joy just to be able to share my blessings with all so the family gathering is one way to celebrate life & being able to enjoy life. So, all u relatives who are reading this, make sure u come for the gathering (shall omit the date since I do not want uninvited guests). In fact, this reminds me of a real story I heard over the radio of a young teenager who had an open house at home when her family went on vacation(happened in USA). It seems that she put the open house party invitation on her blog meaning to invite friends only. However, it got circulated to the extent that all sorts of uninvited guests & hooligans turned up at her house & ransacked & ruined the place thoroughly resulting in the parents having to pay several thousand dollars to repair the damage. Thank goodness, we live in Singapore & not USA!

As both my girls will be going away soon, I get bothered & flustered (they are more calm than me) about what they should prepare for their trips abroad. Mothers are always like that! We may not express it (eh. looking after the char siew is easier hor) but we get stressed & fretful over our children's affairs. So, u children out there, spare a thought for your "poor" mothers & make sure u celebrate Mother's Day with a little "gift" (however insignificant ). U never know what it is like to be a parent until u become ONE. We parents all know this now! Remember, it's not too late to honor & luv your parents as long as they are still around. U will miss them when they are not around la!

So much for now as it's hot & time for my afternoon nap....snnooooooze....

Enjoy the weekend....

What a Week

Hello,
It's the end of another week that has wheezed past me as it's almost a week since I blogged. A short week for some of us but it's a long week for others. Those who were waiting for some love one to return (like the mother who was waiting for news of her daugther who were lost in the canal) would have found time difficult to pass when every second which dragged by without news is heart wrenching.

Actually, it happened to a good friend of mine too. She lost her young son (who is only 27) in a car accident. It was an extremely excruciating time for her & the family as they were told of the car accident on one morning this week. A terrible loss to lose one's child (a young man at the peak of his life who has not the opportunity to enjoy all of life's journey). My heart goes to the family as all of us were greatly saddened & affected by this sudden news. Hopefully, our support extended to her will lend her some comfort and that she realised that she has many friends who will be there for her.

This makes me think of our own mortality & that every day could be our very last. We must make it a point to convey our love to our close family daily and never go to sleep at night with any grouch or quarrel unresolved at the end of each day. Treat it as if it's the last.

Mundane things in life can still be a joy & a blessing if we all accept that "living & breathing" is itself a great achievement. The bouquet is for those who "missed a beat" in life & may they go to a better place.

Hopefully, all of you who read my blog have a wonderful weekend ahead & that you can do one single thing now (which is to hug your loved one).
Good nite.

Sunday, April 22, 2007

Hi, to all,

See, my image unveiled.. Nice but not too clear so that I will not attract too much attention & "stalkers" like Andy Lau..ha.ha.

It's another lazy Sunday morning for me & time to reflect what I've done with another week gone by in a flash. Yes, time flashes by & before u knew it, u have aged another year, another long strand of wrinkles, white hair, more body aches & pains due to wear & tear. These are signs of aging but then it's also a sign that we have grown wiser & definitely learnt to live better. Thinking about this, I know that even as we parents try to shield our children from the vicissitudes of life, they will still have to undergo this themselves to experience & learn.

This calls into mind the Virginia massacre by the Korean boy. Pitiful & extremely sad. The dead has no cares & worries. It's always the living who suffers from this & bear with all the blames & burden of the unfortunate incident. Hopefully, the parents & sister of the boy will remain strong in the face of all this. We, as parents, know that try as we may to direct our children to the right path, it's always their own chosen paths as they divert in their own strange ways. Maybe, as they grow up & have children of their own, they will nod their heads & understand that they should have done what their parents told them.

Am thankful, my girls are ok, nothing great, nothing fantastic, as long as they grow to be "normal" ladies, I have much to be thankful for.

Enjoy the weekend for all of u out there.

Tuesday, April 17, 2007

Hello,
No dear Grace, it's bad taste to want to tell a "tall" story about the contact lens.

Actually, the fact that Candice has the guts to want to try contact lens
& be able to do so in less than half an hour is a great feat. In fact, to me, it's another milestone in her life
& also the fact that I've nurtured her for so long & she's able to bloom nicely (look at the lovely flowers in the picture). That's what I call reaping what u sow.

See grace, as a young adult, u are still expecting mom to buy things for u. eg. the striped bag above. Does'nt this look like u..striped & not fully independant. When will u ever be an "adult" & able to support us.. It's time for us old folks to retire hor & enjoy life.. But never mind, at least, I can make a killing in the bulls market to afford to buy u striped bags, striped blouses & shirts..ha.ha..

So, be good & learn to take care of those around u.. Like your only sister, who is growing up.

So long for now.Time for dinner.

Frantic Life

Hello,
Look at the idyllic background. That's Koh Sam Mui, a spa resort by the sea. Beautiful place to retire & enjoy life. Perfect after a hard day's work of frustrations. Possibly most carefree life u can find.
Eh, am I enjoying my carefree & retiree life? ok la, except this morning I went thro' fenzy buying & selling of shares with the bulls market. Sounds & act like work as it was frenetic with the volatile market movement.
Thank goodness, it has slowed down & I've earned my buck for the day. Enough is enough. Do not be too greedy to kill the golden goose. So, I shall take a break from looking at the market & pen my thoughts here.
The cookies were a dessert serving for our gala western dinner which was fabulous (as usual). My stomach could not accommodate even a single piece so looking at it is divine. It also reminds me to be thankful for what we have. This reminded me to share a piece of good news as a good friend of mine just found a new job after being jobless for the month. He was fretting that he is jobless & that his family has been giving him undue pressure so he was feeling low about this. At least (through MSN), I managed to help boost his morale & confidence a bit & thank goodness, he landed a good job & will be starting work soon. So, at least he can bring back the bacon & the COOKIES to his beloved family..ha.ha.

Is'nt it great? Life is like that. Don't fret over what u do not have. Someone up there is looking after u so if it's yours, it's yours. We win some & lose some.
Cheers & what a New Week it will be. It's Monday & much to be happy about.

Feeing Faint?

Hello,
Did anyone miss this Mama? Yes, I hoped. Well, I had a fantastic time on the Virgo (see...that's the picture I had in my cabin, consolation since I did not have the luxury of a balcony room facing the sea). So, at least I get to look at the picture sea all the time while sleeping, he.he..
Also, I left on Easter for 6 days & we were served (bravo!) easter eggs multi colored ones too on the ship.. So cute as I've not had such eggs for ages. Reminds me of school days of such wonderful & colorful time.
The eggs also had another story as even I gorged on all the gorgeous food and stuff they served u on the ship, there was an occasion that I starved myself till I dropped (almost fainted).
This was during the day trip when I landed in Bangkok. We were both so excited & elated with the majestic shopping centre that we skipped lunch & launched into an aggressive shopping & walking spree on the 6 storeys building non stop for close to 6 hours.

At the end of the mega walk, I was floating in the air & nearing to fainting on the streets when I realised that I had lack of sugar intake after being starved for the past few hours. Finally, we had to halt & take a well deserving break to regain my strength & stamina. So, a lesson taught, do not starve yourself for whatever reasons (even tho' it's glorious shopping). I wonder whether those teenagers who starve themselves to appear slim suffer from such terrible bouts of suffering. Actually, it was a terrible feeling to feel so hopeless & faint, & I tell myself that it's not worth it to ruin my health for the sake of shopping for the cheapest & beautiful stuff.
So, for all those people out there, do take care of your health as no money can bring back your youth & health.
Time to break as it's showtime..More to come on my escapades on the sea.
Cheerios

Hiatus Plan

Hello, to all "ardent" fans out there,
Don't pine for me la as I'll be on vacation tmr & taking a break from all the electronic gadgets for a while. Me going to enjoy the lazy life for a while so that I can come back with more anecdotes & tales to inspire myself hor.

Tmr is revival day for all since it's Easter Sunday but my heart goes to the family of the two boys who were lost at sea at Pasir Ris. What a waste for such young lives to be taken on an untimely basis. So, we never know when we will be gone or how we will go away. It's the living who have to suffer & takes the pain. Therefore, luv & cherish all u have every day as if it's your last. So, all of u out there, don't forget to remember to give a hug to your loved ones & show them that u care. A little shower of love goes a long way.
So, take care & have fun next week while I'm away.
Cheers

Restful Day

Good Friday, A day of rest & remembrance. While many Christians the world over are remembering how the Great one died for us, many others are just enjoying the holiday from all the stressful work & life. Yes, we are all "saved" becos of the great sacrifice for all our sins so we are reminded to learn to cherish what we have.
Em, this reminds so much of myself eh . to a very small extent. After all, I had to give up my corporate jacket for the apron at home so that I can spend time with the girls while they are growing up. Ya, that includes ferrying her & her friends around..Fun eh, u would think but not under the hot sun & heavy rain & having to sit & wait in the "air conless" (to save the world, I shut the engine when waiting) car for them to get ready to go home.. That's the mother's life. No conditions, no terms, just at their beck & call. Hopefully, when they are all grown up & I'm infirm, its their turn to be at my beck & call, whims & fancy..ho.ho.ho.
Anyway, I cannot wait to go for my one week break from the old humdrum life..yes, away from the family. Moms need this occasionally to recharge & get revitalised for more such boring life.hor. So give us a break.
So long for now. it's time to goggle at the box at all those good looking hunks & lovely samsoons.

Penalty for Fame

Hello,

Nice to hear from those of u who posted & supported my blog. Yes, I will continue to pen my thoughts when time permits. However, it's not timely to post my outstanding picture out as it may draw too much attention & attract unneccessary fans.
Just like Andy Lau did. Imagine u being famous & idolised just for being good looking & people killing themselves for it & then getting blamed for it. How sad the world has become if we condone & support such acts. Andy's simple remarks seek to verify my belief that he's a good & kind person as he did not passed over the board comments & criticised the other party overtly.

So, for that same reason , I shall hide behind "clothes line" ha.ha.

Again, how rich can u become & yet do not get to enjoy the fruits of your labour. Look at the death of the world's richest lady in HK & she did not even get to enjoy through her life since she led such a frugal life. What is life if u slogged & slaved & still do not pamper yourself at times (not all the times with expensive branded goods like Grace will tell me so). Just occasional treats for yourself & the family should be great. Thrift is good , extravagance are bad so moderation is the best.

So long for now.

Sweeping the Tomb

Look! That's my daughter carrying her backpack of goodies & drinks for the walk to pray to the ancestors. It's that time of the year that we all do our duty (following the elderly) to pray to ancestors, whom we have not even met. All the crowd, the smoke & the frantic search for carpark are tolerated every year as we need to please the elderly folks.
Told my daughters that they can skip this process when I'm not around as I do not believe in this at all. Give due respect & be filial to your parents while they are alive is 100 times much better than praying to the dead (who knows whether they receive all the paper money that was burnt).
But, that's the beauty of Chinese tradition & if nothing else, it does bring the family to come together & meet on such a occasion where we can share food (eh, all the praying items are like a spread eaten there) & partake of daily lives gossips. All folders for takeaway.

Ya, we will do the same the next year this time round. Well, another round of praying come another week for my own ancestors. That was the dad's side of it..
Sign off for an early nite.

Vacation Time

Good morning to myself. Hope it's another great day today. Waiting to go for my regular facial soon with my daughter so it should be relaxing.
Em, how nice if there are kakis to play MJ .That will help me to improve my brain cells.
NVM, there is always time another day.
Am looking forward to my cruise this sunday so that I can get away from the mundane life of being a housewife for a while.
It's always fun to go on a cruise & this time it will be to BKK & Koh Sam Mui to enjoy the sun, the sea, eating & shopping. Great paradise for relaxation..plus I get to enjoy all the ship's cuisine.Just make sure I don't overindulge myself & will have to pay penance when I return.
Time seems to fly nowadays. Very soon, it will be the June holidays again so have to start planning our vacation once again. Holidays are time for family gathering & outings.
But, there will be something missing this year as my eldest will be leaving home from May onwards for her overseas working stint. Time for her to grow up & experience the reality of living away from the family home, which means, cooking, cleaning & washing up for herself. No maid or mom to scream at for all necessities. Let's see how she will survive this !
Time to sign off now.

My inspiration

Hello,
This is a great start to a New Me...ha.ha...Deeply inspired by another elderly citizen, Laozhapo, whose blog was recommended by my computer savvy daughter to read....For a grand lady of that age, it's great that she is so comfortable in blogging & even having a sexy photo of herself in the blog..
Me...I won't even dare to put my photo here...lest my friends see me....ho..ho..ho...
So, here I am created my own blog....after finding out that a grand old dame can do it, so can I..Kudos to her...
Hopefully, this will be an avenue for me to practise my english & use my brains a bit... since it's been in hibernation after I left the corporate world & completed my Masters degree.
Eh, this is a good alternative to mahjong in ensuring that I do not get dementia...which my children told me that I will be there very soon.....
So, blogging & mj will make my day in my future years.....

Eh, but I would occasionally try to be more intellectual & perhaps share some thoughts with those mothers out there who are struggling to be super moms & super career women.. I gave up one for the other...career for mom..ie...pity...not the other way round, which I feel should have done at times of the days with the frustration from the children....

So much...for my small brains...need to rest & watch my soap opera...
